 A giclee print is a computer-generated image made from high-resolution digital scanning and, using either an 8 or 12 color printer, is printed with archival quality inks that resist fading and can maintain color faithful to an original work of art for at least twenty-five years if not exposed to direct sunlight. Giclees can be printed onto various surfaces including papers, linoleum, and canvas. Giclee printing yields the most accurate color reproduction of all print reproducing processes. Digital files of these images do not deteriorate over time so ongoing print quality of giclee prints is maintained. Almost unlimited print size options are also possible with the giclee process.
